Picture yourself at O&R Patent Law
O&R is a different kind of patent firm. We are a highly collaborative team of accomplished EEs who get energized by inventions in complex fields, and even more energized by working with inventors to use the patent system to protect these inventions and turn them into valuable assets. We are patent lawyers and patent agents who know industry through our combined years of work experience, who know complex technologies, who know the numerous commercial reasons inventions are important, who know how to create IP portfolio planning strategies, and who know how to combine this multifaceted knowledge into a challenging and rewarding practice and profession.
That’s who we are.
You are:
An industry engineer looking to expand your skill and experience beyond the laboratory or cubicle, and beyond a single technology or product
An attorney, patent agent, or technology specialist working in a law firm looking for a change in pace and a more holistic approach to your practice
A big law veteran with an engineering or chemistry background who is tired of bureaucracy and yearning for the type of direct client contact not available to you in your behind-the-scenes role
A recent graduate with an advanced EE, CS, or related degree (congratulations!) or seasoned academic looking to continue working with some of the most creative inventors in the most advanced technologies in a direct and applied setting outside of research and academics
If you are also more than the average technology geek, have an interest in why an inventor might want to use an invention for a business purpose, are imaginative and able to think outside the box, and eager to join a team of like-minded professionals who are skilled in showing you the ropes, we want to speak with you. Prior experience in patent law and practice is not required; we value and develop the varying backgrounds and strengths of our team members.
